Community Collecting Event: May 5

May 5, 2024
Location: Auditorium, OJMCHE

May 5, 2024 | 11am-3pm

We are excited to invite you to participate in our upcoming Community Collecting Events, where we aim to preserve and celebrate the rich history of communal Jewish life in Oregon.

During these community collecting events, we focus on gathering primary resources that document various aspects of communal Jewish life, including synagogue, club, and school records. We are also keenly interested in materials related to public leadership and planning, as well as the stories of Holocaust survivors who settled in Oregon. Additionally, we welcome papers and records from individuals, organizations, and businesses that have contributed to the vibrant story of our community.

Please note the following important details:

  • Material Scope: We kindly ask that donated materials align with our collection scope. Please visit our Collections Donations page to learn more about what we are looking for. Anything outside our scope will be respectfully turned away on the day of the event. Donors will have the option to take the material back or, if preferred, we will ensure it is responsibly recycled.
  • Drop-off Instructions: Donors are required to bring their materials directly to the auditorium rather than dropping them off at the front desk. Our front desk staff is aware of this procedure, and we appreciate your cooperation.

Preserving our community’s history is a collaborative effort, and your contributions play a vital role in this endeavor. We look forward to welcoming you at our Community Collecting Events.
Thank you for helping us document and celebrate the vibrant history of Jewish life in Oregon.
